OUTSIDERS COMES TO THE TEMPLETON PERFORMING ARTS CENTER STAGE

OUTSIDERS COMES TO THE TEMPLETON PERFORMING ARTS CENTER STAGE

The THS Drama department, under new director Stephanie LeClair, is thrilled to welcome the North County to this year's fall production, The Outsiders, the beloved coming-of-age novel by S.E. Hinton, which has captivated audiences for generations.

The Outsiders chronicles the compelling story of two rival teenage groups, the Greasers and the Socs, as they navigate the challenges of socio economic divisions, friendship, and self-discovery. With its gripping narrative and timeless themes of loyalty, identity, and the struggle between conforming and staying true to oneself, this play offers a poignant exploration of the human condition. The Outsiders is also a story about shared humanity. There's a message that our enemies are only our enemies because we don't understand them, or because we have been told they're our enemies. Of course, human interactions are much more complicated than that, as Ponyboy, Johnny, Cherry, and the other young adults in the play must learn.
