Each month staff members nominate a student they want to recognize as “Eagle of the Month”. This month teachers nominated a student who shows “Honesty”. Of the students nominated, four are drawn at random to receive a special meal. For this recognition our four selected winners will receive a gift certificate for two to McPhee’s Grill in Templeton. A big thank you to Ian McPhee for his kindness in supporting our Eagle of the Month program. Below are our winners with a brief explanation as to why they were chosen and below that is a list of students nominated this month and the staff member who nominated them. Congratulations to all of our nominees.
Thomas Hightower
Nominated by Ms. Dalgarn - I nominated Thomas Hightower for Eagle of the Month, because he always shows genuine respect, care for and interest in others. Thomas is part of my lunch crew and it is clear that he has built a strong reputation among his friends as someone who can be trusted and relied upon. Thomas also has a friendly demeanor that helps people feel welcome and comfortable around him. I have enjoyed getting to know Thomas over the last couple years and watching him grow into the steadfast, trustworthy and honest person he is today.
Devynne Petters
Nominated by Ms. Guerra - I am happy to nominate Deyvenne Peters as Eagle of the Month for her incredible honesty. Deyvenne always chooses to be truthful, even when no one is around to see it. She sets a great example for her classmates by standing by her values and doing what’s right. Deyvenne embodies all the traits of an honest person—she is trustworthy, acts with integrity, takes responsibility for her actions, and always has the courage to speak the truth. Congrats to Deyvenne for being recognized.
Luis Leon
Nominated by Mr. Kubas- Luis shows up to class with a mindset of getting things done. He does not put up a front. He is honest when he is doing well and honest when he needs help. Luis has his own mobile mechanic business that he sets high expectations for. I would absolutely trust Luis to work on my truck because he is a kind, hardworking, and sincere individual. He is well deserving of this honor.
Rileigh Esquibel
Nominated by Mrs. Duhon- After the first week of school Rileigh sent me an email. In her email she honestly stated how she felt about the concepts covered in class and wanted to check in to see what she could do. I appreciated this honest email because not all students will admit if they are struggling or confused. This allowed me to help her and check in with the rest of her peers. This act along with other questions during class time has made her a leader in our class.
