At THS we are blessed with great, caring and kind students and this year we are partnering with The Human Bean to recognize a student each month that exemplifies what it means to be a kind human being, or in this case “Kind Human Bean”. The purpose of this program is to remind us all of the importance of kindness and goodness and to encourage others as we introduce you to some amazing young people.
This month we chose to recognize senior Macie Gordon. Macie is an amazingly talented person. In her years at THS she has been a Link Crew leader and mentor to others as well as an athlete. She is an outstanding student and a quality person who demonstrates humility and kindness to whoever’s path she crosses.

“Since I have known Macie, she has impressed me with her cheerful spirit and her dedication to success. She has a positive attitude that is contagious, she truly makes our day brighter when she comes in. She is not only very diligent about achieving her own endeavors, she is always helpful and kind towards others in class. Her hard work regarding both in-school and extracurricular activities is extraordinary, I am honored to have the opportunity to work with her this semester!” - Jana Mooney, Templeton High School Math Department
“Macie is a ray of sunshine; she is authentic, sincere, inquisitive and just a delight. She works hard, asks important questions, and balances her responsibilities with her passions.” - Cece Mayer, Templeton High School Math Department
“Macie is one of the friendliest, most polite, and warm students I've encountered in my career. She is professional, personable, and a wonderful communicator. The number of things she has been able to accomplish, including her professional achievements and dedication to extracurriculars, speaks volumes about her determination and grit. If I were 20 years younger, I'd want to be her friend and I'm so fortunate to have her as one of my students this year.” - Bre Goetz, THS Counseling Department
“Macie is an amazing young lady. Many know Macie for her accomplishments in racing. There have been stories about her in newspapers, magazines and on television. She was recognized, along with her sister, by a prominent drag racing magazine, as being one of the top 30 racers under 30. She has won multiple divisional titles and even “Racer of the Year” in her rookie season. She helps run the office of her family business and helped to start a manufacturing company with her sister back in 2019. But those who know Macie best know that while she’s a really good racer, she’s an even better person. Her kindness, gentleness and humility are what really make her standout. She is a blessing to our faculty and staff and to our community and makes a difference every day just by how she treats others. ”. -- Matt Macfarlane, Templeton High School Activities Director
A group of staff members surprised Macie today during one of her classes and shared with her words of encouragement and affirmation and presented her with a “Kind Human Bean” shirt and a gift card from The Human Bean in Templeton. Thank you Macie and thank you The Human Bean Templeton, CA for helping us recognize some of the kind human beings on our campus.
Go Eagles !!!
