Last week the THS Society of Women Engineers (SWE) went on a field trip to NASA JPL in Pasadena, CA. The girls were given a private tour of the facilities, including many areas not accessible to the general public. They were able to stand on the control room floor (while engineers were controlling active satellites and rovers) as well as see private demonstrations in the machine room. They also had three high level female engineers give presentations about being a female and working for NASA.
