Each month staff members nominate a student they want to recognize as “Eagle of the Month”. This month teachers nominated a student who shows “KINDNESS”. Of the students nominated, four are drawn at random to receive a lunch out at McPhee’s Grill on Main Street. Below are our winners with a brief explanation as to why they were chosen and below that are the other students nominated this month and the staff member who nominated them. Congratulations to all of our nominees.
Erica Trujillo
“Erica is a bright presence in class, and she contributes greatly to the classroom learning community. She exhibits kindness in her collaboration. She works respectfully with others, reaches out to include her peers, and supports her classmate's learning. She gives freely to the class whatever she has, and doesn't ask for anything in return. She devotes her time to helping her classmates in a way that only a truly kind person can.” -- Nicholas Kubas, THS Math Department
Kerry Denzel
“Kerry consistently spreads joy to others through her kind actions. She is positive and encouraging with others whether they are classmates, peers, or staff. She is generous with her time in helping others; she goes above what is asked of her. She is simply delightful and a shining example of kindness in action.” -- Amy Fraser, THS Math Department
Abby Paisano
“Abby regularly demonstrates kindness to her fellow students and to me, her teacher. When she comes into class she asks me how my day is going. She helps her classmates if they missed some notes we are taking in class. She will get extra papers for those students sitting near her. She shows kindness to me by participating in classroom discussions and being actively engaged in our lessons. Abby is a joy to have in my classroom and a role model for her peers.” -- Beth Kline, THS Social Studies Department
Dawson McDow
“Dawson is one of the most kind individuals I know. Last year during chemistry, Dawson would stay after class every day to help clean my room, plug in Chromebooks, and voice his appreciation for our class. I have the pleasure of having Dawson again this year for Environmental Science and he has continued to demonstrate the same good-hearted behavior. Additionally, Dawson treats all of his peers with respect and continually brings a smile to those around him.” -- Kristina Evanko, THS Science Department
