Each year THS Football players and THS Cheerleaders travel out to Vineyard Elementary and spend time talking with students about football, cheer and life lessons that they have learned through the sports they play.
During their presentations our athletes discussed Vineyard Elementary’s SOAR acronym and each gave an example of how they focus on those traits themselves in the classroom, at home or on the field. These visits are a great opportunity for our senior athletes to speak into the lives of younger Eagles.
SOAR is an acronym that stands for “Self Management”, “Organized and Ready”, “Aim High”, “Respect for Self and Others” all traits that the Vineyard Elementary Staff emphasizes in the classroom and on the playground.
A big thank you to VES Principal Devon Hodgson for helping to coordinate this program. And to our football players River Waltmire, Johnny Peschong, Kaleb Simonin, Walker Craven, Anthony Chavez and Aiden Wall and cheerleaders Sachiko Zemke, Tia Edwards, Tala Ashton, Cyrena Brown, Kerry Denzel and Kaitlyn Puita for giving of their time during Homecoming Week.
Go Eagles !!!
