Eagles Rout Firebaugh in Home Opener 49-0

The Templeton Eagles first home game of the season was a 49-0 win over the Firebaugh Eagles last Friday night. The Eagle were led by their defense that shut down the Firebaugh offense and held Firebaugh to  three yards per play on average. Th Defensive line of Aiden Wall, Walker Craven, Johnny Peschong and Ethan Lane were a disruptive force all night. That group made many tackles behind the line of scrimmage and put relentless pressure on their Quarterback. The offense was led by Daxton Calagna's four touchdowns and Anthony Chavez's two touchdowns passes. The Eagle scored on 6 of their first 7 possessions and never looked back. Not to be forgotten was the great kicking of River Waltmire. He consistently has been kicking the ball into the end zone on kickoffs, and that is a great help to the Eagle defense. THS was glad to be back on their home field and play well in front of a supportive crowd.

The Eagles will return to Mike Erb Field this Friday for their homecoming game against West High of Bakersfield.
