The THS Eagle Football team headed to Bakersfield for a non league game against the East Bakersfield High School Blades Friday night. The Eagles got an early fumble recovery and turned it to 6 points in two plays. This started an excellent offensive output in the first half. THS led 42-7 at half time. The second half was played with a running clock, but all of the Eagles dressed out for the game were able to play in the 42-14 win. The Eagle offense was led by 3 touchdowns each by River Waltmire and Daxton Calagna. The offensive line did their part by opening big running lanes for the running backs and they took advantage for 307 yards rushing.

The Eagle defense didn't allow a first down in the 1st quarter led by the senior defensive line of Ethan Lane, Walker Craven, Aiden Wall, and Johnny Peschong. THS also added interceptions by Kolton Sobyra and Levi Botts in the first half. It was an excellent overall team effort and it was exciting to see our younger players get in a game and perform well. The Eagle will be opening their home schedule this coming Friday night against the always tough Firebaugh Eagles. Firebaugh brings a 2-1 record to Templeton for a 7:00 pm kickoff.
