Eagle Football Wraps Up Successful Summer

Practice photo

The Templeton Eagle Football team is hard at work getting ready for the 2023 season.  The Eagles enjoyed a very productive summer competing in 2 passing tournaments and 2 linemen competitions. At the Atascadero Passing Tournament and Linemen Competition the Eagle went undefeated on the  first day in the passing portion and the linemen placed 1st in the kettlebell carry and 3rd in the bench press competition out of about 24 teams. The second day of passing saw the Eagles compete with the likes of  Buchannan and Tulare Union.  The team represented themselves well and battled to the very end in both of those games. A week later at Arroyo Grande the passing group played some of the best teams in our section and was able to beat some D2 schools and make one of the best showings by a Templeton team in the last 20 years at the AG tournament. Our linemen again won one of the events in the lineman competition and placed 3rd in the bench press out of 40 teams. It was a very good weekend for the whole team.

The coaching staff felt that we had the best summer of work in the past five years and that the team is ready to get into their fall preparation on a high note. The Eagles will be led by a group of seniors that have been through a lot over the four years of high school. The coaching staff is excited to see how our season plays out and can’t wait for the first game in Idaho on August 26th.  Make sure that you come out to all of our home games and cheer for your Eagles.  You can visit the THS Football page on our new school website

Go Eagles !!!
