THS is excited to introduce a new addition to our Templeton High School family: Patricia Hurley who joins our THS English department.
Patricia's earned her single subject English teaching credential from Cal Poly, where her passion for literature and language flourished. Continuing her pursuit of excellence, Patricia obtained her Masters Degree in Curriculum from Western Governors University, demonstrating her commitment to refining her teaching skills and methodologies.
Beyond the classroom, Patricia's life is rich and diverse. She possesses a green thumb and loves gardening. When she's not tending to her garden, Patricia dedicates her time to caring for her beloved toddler son and tending to their animals. With a deep-rooted connection to the community, Patricia's family has resided on the same property in Templeton for an impressive five generations.
Patricia did her student teaching with 8th graders at TMS, gaining insight into the dynamics of our very own school system. For the past four years, Patricia has been instrumental in shaping young minds at Shandon High School, where she brought English literature to life for grades 9-12. Her dynamic approach extended beyond traditional subjects, as she also engaged students in important electives such as public speaking and creative writing.
It's a homecoming of sorts, as Patricia herself is a proud 2007 Templeton High School graduate. This unique perspective lends her an understanding of our school's values and culture, making her transition into our community seamless. Patricia is eager to connect with THS students, sharing her wisdom, and fostering a love for literature and language. She's excited to immerse herself in school and community events, embracing the vibrant spirit that makes Templeton High School special.
