THS Athletic Director is excited to announce the addition of two new coaches to the THS Athletic Department. Meredith Phillips takes over as the new Girls Volleyball Head Coach and Terri Wilson will lead our girls tennis program. Each of the coaches is excited to join the THS coaching staff and each shared a little about themselves.
Meredith Phillips: I just graduated from Cal Poly where I played as a middle blocker on the D1 indoor team from 2018-2022. I made all conference all four years and was a captain for three, leading Cal Poly to a Big West Championship and multiple NCAA tournaments. I have coached at 805 Elite Volleyball Club for the past 4 years. I am originally from Houston, Texas but very excited to be staying on the Central Coast. I am grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait to get started!
Terri Wilson: I'm excited about the opportunity to coach the Varsity Girls Tennis team at Templeton High School. I began playing tennis about 12 years ago when all three of my young children began playing as well. I originally picked up tennis just to be able to hit with my kids but soon grew to love the game as I learned more about it. I started playing competitively within the first year of playing the sport for the USTA Women’s Team in Visalia. Upon moving to the central coast 10 years ago, I soon after joined the Central Coast Women’s Tennis League. I still play today for the Women’s A Team at the Paso Robles Sports Club but I also enjoy playing on various USTA teams locally, both women’s and mixed doubles. Some highlights within my tennis career include winning the Avila Bay Classic 4.0 Women’s Doubles in 2015, being a finalist in Women’s Doubles USTA Santa Barbara Open in 2015, and competing with our Women’s 3.5 USTA Team in 4 different advances to the Sectional Tournament. I am excited to share my knowledge and love of tennis as I coach, but also to learn more from the girls I’ll be coaching!
We are excited to have both of these highly qualified and experienced coaches at THS.
Go Eagles !!!
