The THS Drama department, under new director Stephanie LeClair, is thrilled to announce this year's fall production, The Outsiders, adapted for the stage by Christopher Sergel from the beloved coming-of-age novel by S.E. Hinton, which has captivated audiences for generations.
The Outsiders chronicles the compelling story of two rival teenage groups, the Greasers and the Socs, as they navigate the challenges of socio economic divisions, friendship, and self-discovery. With its gripping narrative and timeless themes of loyalty, identity, and the struggle between conforming and staying true to oneself, this play offers a poignant exploration of the human condition. The Outsiders is also a story about shared humanity. There's a message that our enemies are only our enemies because we don't understand them, or because we have been told they're our enemies. Of course, human interactions are much more complicated than that, as Ponyboy, Johnny, Cherry, and the other young adults in the play must learn.
Mark your calendars and join us for an evening of riveting storytelling, as we proudly present The Outsiders this fall. Don't miss your chance to witness the power of live theater and support the exceptional talent within our school community.
Students who are interested in auditioning for parts in this year's production should plan on attending auditions September 5-8. Be listening for more information from Mrs. LeClair. Opening night for The Outsiders is scheduled for November 30 in the beautiful Templeton Performing Arts Center.
