Spirit Boosters

What is Spirit Boosters?

Spirit Boosters is a group of caring parents who give of their time, energy and creativity to encourage a positive spirit and culture at Templeton High School.  Here are just a few of the things they have done to help boost the spirit at THS.

Spirit Flags

You will see our Templeton "T" flags in a variety of places to let you know something special is happening.  During Homecoming Week and other special events you will see our flags hanging down Main Street.  At our football games our Wingmen create a "flag tunnel" for our team and coaches to enter the stadium in style.  These flags were a gift from Spirit Boosters and have been part of THS culture beginning in 2017.  You may see these flags hanging in front of businesses or in front of home because Spirit Boosters makes these available to the community as a way of raising funds for the events they sponsor.  If you would like to purchase a flag you can reach out to Jen Gingrich for more information.

"Freshmen of the Month"

Each month Spirit Boosters partners witih our Link Crew Program to recognize a "Freshmen of the Month". Link Crew leaders, in coordination with our WISE Tutorial program teachers, select a male and female from our freshmen class that have gone above and beyond that month.  Through the support of Spirit Boosters Link Crew leaders will visit the winners' classrooms and share some affirming thoughts about our winners as well as special food to be giving as a special treat.

Pie Day

Every November, leaders of our Link Crew program meet with our entire freshmen class and serve up pumpkin pie with a hand written note of encouragement for each of our 9th graders as a way of celebrating Thanksgiving.

Staff Member of the Month

Each month we sponsor our "Staff Member of the Month" presentation in which we recognize an outstanding staff member.  The THS Leadership program creates a video of students sharing what makes our winner standout and Spirit Booster creates a special gift basket to be presented to our winner.  It is a great way of recognizing the many outstanding staff members we have at THS.

Motivational Speakers

We love sponsoring motivational speakers to share with our students about topics that reach their hearts, give direction and encouragement, and help our student body to grow.  Pictured above are two of the runners from McFarland High School that later became the subject for a Disney Movie about these runners and the program and the challenges they had to overcome.  McFarland High went on to win 9 state cross country titles in 14 years. 

Cocoa and Cram

Every December Spirit Boosters works with our teachers, ASB, and Link Crew to provide snacks and prizes for "Cocoa and Cram", an afternoon study time that gives students a place to study together as they prepare themselves for their first semester final exams.  Student can win prizes for bring completed study guides and can study with their peers, Link Crew leaders of faculty members who attend.
