Welcome to Templeton Independent Study High School (TISHS), an excellent WASC Accredited high school. We offer unique opportunities for students and families seeking alternative options to the traditional high school program.

TISHS students meet with their teachers for one-on-one instruction once a week for approximately 1 hour. Our curriculum is a mix of both college prep and non-college prep courses. Each is individualized to each student’s needs, allowing them to achieve their future academic goals. Students can also take elective courses on the high school campus through concurrent enrollment.

TISHS students have the opportunity to take classes concurrently at Cuesta College to help them pursue their academic goals. Many students do this to help complete their general education classes before graduating high school.

Enrollment in Templeton Independent Study High School provides students the flexibility to work while earning elective credit through our Work Experience Program.

2023 - 2024 School Year

Hello Families,

The upcoming school year is fast approaching. Families that are interested in enrolling in Templeton Independent Studies (grades 9 – 12) for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year, please complete the following items.

  1. Complete this Pre-Enrollment Checklist located under forms. I will notify you when it is received.
  2. For students that do not live within the Templeton Unified School District Boundaries will need to get an approved Interdistrict Transfer Request from their home district prior to any enrollment process.
  3. Once the Pre-Enrollment process is complete and your student is approved for enrollment, I will send you the official enrollment packet via email.
  4. All enrollment packets need to be completed and turned in to me no later than Friday, August 18th for processing.

Student Successes

Many students have graduated from TISHS and moved on to do amazing things.

Some have gone on to Universities. Some include: University of Texas, Cal Poly SLO, UC Davis, Laguna College of Arts and more. Many students pursue Cuesta College to get their degree. Medical Assistants, Mechanics, Teachers, RN’s and more have graduated from Templeton Independent Study High School.
