Safety at TES
Campus Safety
Our top priority is that TES is a safe and happy place for all of our students.
Please review our Playground Rules with your children to help support campus safety throughout the school year.
Also, make sure your child comes to school with proper attire and footwear. Shoes need to provide ample support and stability for the classroom, as well as the playground. Close-toed shoes are highly recommended, the lower to the ground the better! Please save the heels and open-toed shoes for after school and weekend hours.
Go Eagles!
Safety starts with arrival & dismissal!
We ask that all drivers coming to drop-off and pick-up follow the posted signs and painted areas around the school. This is for the safety of all staff, students, and parents/ guardians. The drive-up lane down by the black rolling gate/courtyard is for pick-up with a driver in the car. Your vehicle cannot be left unattended.
We welcome parking on the surrounding streets. The streets and sidewalks are designed and maintained by the County of San Luis Obispo. Please be sure to follow all parking rules established by TUSD and the County of San Luis Obispo. The long driveway next to the play structure is also not a parking area. There are specific curbs painted for placard/handicapped cars.
TUSD and TES only have control in keeping our students and families safe, hence why we enforce the red and blue painted curbs and signage in the drive-thru strip. This includes designated handicapped parking places and curbs around our campus. If you have family members or caregivers coming to pick up or drop off, please share this information with them as well.
As always, please do not drive into the staff parking lot from the opposite way. We have had a couple of close calls with cars and pedestrians. A HUGE thank you to all the families that have been patient with our drop-off/ pick-up routines around TES. It takes a village to keep traffic safe and respect our surrounding neighbors.
