The first of group of new hires were announced by Templeton High School principal Jessica Lloyd and while they are new to THS they are well known in the district.
Grant Craton - Social Studies
Grant Craton will be joining the THS Social Studies department at Templeton High School this fall. With his educational background in Social Science and his extensive teaching experience, he is well-suited to contribute to the department's mission of cultivating students' understanding of history, culture, and society.
Grant's academic journey and specialized degree in Social Science provide him with a strong foundation in the subject matter. His deep knowledge and passion for the field will undoubtedly inspire and engage students as they explore various historical events, analyze societal structures, and develop critical thinking skills.
Having taught at both First Presbyterian School and Monte Vista Christian School, Grant has honed his teaching techniques and developed a comprehensive understanding of the Social Studies curriculum. During his six-year tenure at Templeton Middle School, he has consistently demonstrated his ability to connect with students and foster a love for the subject and a love for learning.
The Social Studies department at Templeton High School is thrilled to have Grant Craton join their ranks. His enthusiasm, experience, and commitment to educational excellence will undoubtedly enhance the learning experience for students, foster a supportive classroom environment, and contribute to the department's ongoing success in shaping well-rounded global citizens.

Kaitlyn Zak - English Department
THS also welcomes Kaitlyn Zak, who will be joining our English Department and also serving as a Dean of Students for part of the day.
Kaitlyn Zak brings a wealth of knowledge and a strong commitment to education to our school community. She graduated from Cal Poly SLO, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in English and then obtained a Masters of Education in Administration from California Coast University, demonstrating her dedication to continuous professional growth.
With a rich background in education, Kaitlyn has previously worked at Atascadero Middle School, Arroyo Grande High, and most recently, Templeton Middle School. Her experience in diverse educational settings will undoubtedly contribute to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment at Templeton High School.
Beyond her passion for teaching, Kaitlyn has a love for ranching/farming and enjoys horseback riding in her free time. Her enthusiasm for outdoor activities and connecting with nature will undoubtedly connect her with our students.
When asked about her aspirations for her new role, Mrs. Zak expressed, "I am really looking forward to seeing students grow and progress and to be a part of a different chapter of their lives." Her commitment to student development aligns perfectly with our mission to provide exceptional education and support to all students.
