THS Rodeo Starts Season Strong at Santa Maria Competition

Lane Miller in competing in Steer Wrestling

The first California High School Rodeo Association (CHSRA) District 7 Rodeo was held this past weekend at the Elks Rodeo Grounds in Santa Maria and was a great success.  District 7 has roughly 130 members competing with 12 of them coming from Templeton High.  This was one of 7 rodeos this season taking place from King City to Paso Robles and south to Santa Maria.

Many great performances turned in this weekend including Lane Miller who won the Steer Wrestling competition for the weekend and the first round of Calf Roping.  Royce Brown and his partner won the Team Roping and Royce placed in Tie Down Roping.

This year’s THS Rodeo team includes Royce Brown, Jade Dawson, Riley Dunham, Tyler Eade, Chase Grantham, Claire Johnsen, Wyatt Lyon, Lane Miller, Tillie Miller, Adele Orradre, Colter Tannehill, Quinn Tannehill, and Niyah Tidwell

The next rodeo is scheduled for October 14-15th in Parkfield.
